In response to government decisions discriminating against the shopping center industry, shopping center “Domina Shopping” will organize a street shopping campaign “Open-air shopping square” starting tomorrow, April 15. More than 10 stores will take part in it, offering not only to buy, but also to try out the goods people need on a daily basis.
Women’s, men’s and children’s footwear and clothing markets stores Meta, European Footwear, Sportland, Muss, Denmark and Sportsdirect.com. Accessories and gifts will be offered – Garmin, Handly and 7IN. Cosmetics and perfumes will be available at Douglas. In turn, the home goods store Jysk will ensure the delivery of goods ordered online and will provide consultations on the purchase of goods remotely.
Outdoor shopping will take place in Domina’s central square – at the C entrance with a view of the J.Zemitāna bridge. Trading will take place over the next three weeks on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays on 15, 16 and 17 April, then on 22, 23 and 24 April, and finally on 29, 30 and 1 May. Opening hours will be the same every day – from 10:00 to 21:00.
“We draw your attention to the fact that according to the regulations in force in the country, street sales will unfortunately not take place 7 days a week. At the moment, they provide that we can only do it according to the following schedule – 3 days work, 4 rests. such inconvenience and we urge you to follow the information in the media and Domina’s social networks carefully in order to know the exact working hours, “says Iveta Zvaigzne-Ālere, Marketing Director of t / c” Domina Shopping “.
At the same time, Domina Shopping purposefully continues the fight for the possibility to resume customer service indoors in accordance with the conditions of secure on-site shopping. Therefore, today the shopping center again turned to government officials. A request has been made to the Ministry of Economy for the urgent opening of two Domina stores with separate entrances (Sportland and Jysk). This approach is already practiced not only in other Latvian shopping centers with an area over 7000m2, but also in Lithuania and previously in Estonia. In turn, the President, the Speaker of the Saeima and the Cabinet of Ministers have repeatedly been sent a request to immediately end the organization of unfair competition in the trade sector and, in accordance with the concept of safe trade, to allow all stores in large shopping centers to work in person.
Also fashion and entertainment center “Riga Plaza” from 15-17. April and further on the other weekends of April from From 10:00 to 19:00, an outdoor trade will be organized in the outdoor area at the entrance to Milan. During this time, sales outside the center will also be moved by the sporting goods store “Sportland”, which will have an outdoor sales area of 200 m2, as well as the perfume and cosmetics store “Douglas”.
Irīna Toropova, the head of the fashion and entertainment center “Rīga Plaza”, says: “Shopping centers have the resources and appropriate infrastructure to ensure safe customer service and a safe distance between visitors. We want to work and we can ensure that the requirements are met by applying the concept of safe shopping. Unfortunately, we are discriminated against and face additional restrictions – the receipt of goods purchased in distance selling must also be organized outside the store premises. We are looking for creative solutions to support our tenants and street trading is one way. ”
Following all the safe shopping rules currently set in the country, it will be possible to buy goods from the world’s leading sports brands in the 200 m2 wide tent of the Sportland store. Consumers’ interest in purchasing sports and leisure goods is huge, so we will ensure the largest possible area and a wide selection of goods within the limits of our possibilities, ”says Sandijs Pinkulis, a member of the Board of Sportland.
“This project confirms that we, as traders, are ready to adapt to changing circumstances and implement the necessary solutions to ensure safe trade. We want to draw attention to the unfair and anti-competitive government decisions that still prohibit the operation of large supermarket stores. So far, we have invested enough in implementing the concept of safe shopping. At present, we are ready to trade even on the street in order to ensure turnover and take care of our employees, because unfortunately we cannot rely on timely and consistent decisions of the government and executive bodies regarding the resumption of operations in general, as well as support and compensatory measures for entrepreneurs, ”Douglas Latvia ”Chairman of the Board Dita Dricka.
Taking into account that the delivery of goods purchased in distance trade in the shopping center is also prohibited, the shopping center “Riga Plaza” offers to remove the ordered goods from the stores at the pick-up point located at the entrance of the fashion and entertainment center “Riga Plaza” in New York (next to parcel terminals).
Fashion and entertainment center “Riga Plaza” invites visitors to be responsible and comply with epidemiological safety requirements when visiting the shopping center and shopping in the outdoor area.
