Due to the great mobilization of people in the country for the holidays, it is relevant to emphasize some issues to take into account when going out on the road. The San Francisco Volunteer Fire Society, in conjunction with the San Francisco SA Security Division., mention what are the regulatory elements to consider when going on a trip.
On the one hand, they recalled that the National Transit Law No. 24,449 indicates three pieces needed before beginning a journey. The security features are the fire extinguisher, the set of triangular beacons and the fourth rigid trailer.
In addition, they indicated that the fire extinguisher must have a minimum weight of 1kg and be type ABC, which is used for solid, liquid and electric class fires. They also indicated that it must be attached under the passenger seat, since if it were to get loose in the event that it is under the driver, it could roll towards the pedals and cause an accident on the road.
On the other hand, they explained that the set of triangular beacons, which are two, must have a certain reflectivity.
“On provincial routes, one is used in front and one behind the vehicle; on the highway, both behind the car”, they commented.
Finally, regarding the fourth rigid trailer, they remarked that it is also a regulatory element, although currently most vehicle units have plastic systems that are difficult to tie down.
Other recommendations
On the other hand, they commented that the NGO Cesvi, which provides statistics and information on road accidents in Argentina, recommends wearing a reflective vest that is useful when a person crashes due to a problem in their car; a minimum first-aid kit, for small accidents, and a white cloth, which is a cloth that is used to place it on the glass, letting it fly from the outside used to ask for help, whether it is running or with the vehicle stopped.
In turn, they stressed that each of these pieces must be purchased in authorized places, because they are regulated security elements, with which “low-quality” imitations, which are deceptively usually “cheaper”, may not work or not fulfill its specific function.
From the San Francisco SA Security Division, they affirmed that all the necessary security elements can be purchased at their premises, with a wide variety of prices and brands, and with the best quality to be able to travel safely and calmly.
