A train of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) is hit by a tree near Aichstetten. The tree becomes wedged in the train. The fire brigade has a quick solution.

A Eurocity on the way to Zurich with around 300 passengers was hit by a tree in the southeast of Baden-Württemberg. There were no injuries in the accident near Aichstetten (Ravensburg district), said a police spokesman. According to initial findings, the tree was wedged into the train at midday.

The fire brigade cut free the ECE 194 of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) so that it could continue its journey after just over an hour, said a railway spokeswoman. The extent of the material damage was not initially known.

Buses were originally ordered to get the passengers off the train, which was traveling from Munich to Zurich. However, this was no longer necessary. The “Schwäbische Zeitung” initially reported online. The report states that the incident occurred during a thunderstorm.
