While various stakeholders in the health network say they are ready to welcome November 15, the deadline to obtain double vaccination for health workers, the Integrated Health and Social Services Center of Montérégie-Center (CISSSMC) prepares.
As of October 15, this was a rate of more than 95% of employees adequately vaccinated and for whom the establishment had received proof of vaccination as recorded by the CISSSMC. Out of a total of employees scheduled to schedule 10,203 workers between October 12 and 30, 466 employees had not yet demonstrated the required vaccine proof. These data are evolving. “Our efforts continue to implement the mandatory vaccination requirement on November 15th. We hope this delay will convince unvaccinated employees to do so. In this regard, we facilitate the vaccination of personnel who wish to take advantage of it, ”says Martine Lesage, director of communications and public affairs at the CISSSMC.
The CISSSMC says it is continuing its work in order to avoid as many effects as possible on the care and services offered to customers in the context where a certain number of employees should be withdrawn from work, considering the decree. As the situation is called upon to evolve day by day, the CISSSMC considers it “premature to identify the sectors which will be most affected”.
In the context of the government’s call to recruit nurses, the CISSSMC is active. More than 1,760 contacts were made (people contacted by the CISSSMC or who contacted it). The institution approaches retirees and former employees who have left the organization for various reasons. So far, the CISSSMC has been able to speak with about 180 people, many of whom are interested or thinking. At the time of writing, the center had rehired a retired person and made six hires / rehires (departures of less than five years or outside the network). Note that the CISSSMC has also made 16 increases from part-time to full-time among its active staff. “We are continuing our efforts to recruit as many candidates as possible,” concludes Ms. Lesage.
