Despite their different careers, Roger Federer (41) and Tevor Noah (39) have one thing in common. The successful athlete and the celebrated presenter and comedian are both half Swiss and half South African. While Roger Federer also grew up in Switzerland, Trevor Noah spent his childhood in South Africa. Together with the tennis star, he is now getting to know his second home better – in a sustainable way.
The duo travels the “Grand Train Tour of Switzerland” by train. This round trip includes all of Switzerland’s famous panoramic routes over a distance of 1280 kilometres. The eight stations feature stunning glaciers, beautiful lakes and mountains, and charming cities like Lucerne. The campaign was started by Switzerland Tourism. In the short film “The Ride of a Lifetime” you can watch the train journey of Roger Federer and Trevor Noah. It was directed by Tom Hooper, who has already staged screen successes such as “The King’s Speech”. The film can be seen on YouTube from March 30th.
With the right travel partner, every stop becomes a highlight: in the video above you can see how much fun Roger Federer and Trevor Noah have on their journey.
Roger Federer: His cute twins steal the show from him
Roger Federer retired from top-level tennis last year. After a successful career, he now has more time for his family. As a father of four, he certainly always has things to do at home. In 2009 he and his wife Mirka (44) had twin girls Charlene Riva and Myla Rose. In 2014, the sons Leo and Lennart followed again in a double pack. His children are also his biggest fans and have loudly cheered for the tennis pro at his tournaments in the past.
