On the role of the UN in the Russian war against Ukraine: an interview with the Latvian representative to the UN Andrei Pildegovich
The United Nations (UN) is seen as an international guarantor of peace and security. Although the UN General Assembly has adopted by an overwhelming majority a resolution condemning Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and calling on Russia to withdraw its troops immediately, Russia is also using the same organization to spread misinformation about Ukraine. What is the role of the UN and whether it has a real opportunity to influence what is happening in Ukraine – the journalist Alina Lastovska talked about it with the Ambassador of Latvia and Permanent Representative to the UN Andrejs Pildegovičs.
