The parade, which showcased the most advanced weapons of the DPRK, was held on Wednesday evening in the center of the capital, Pyongyang.
Photos from the parade released by the KCTA showed Kim’s wife Yi Sol-ju and daughter Ju-e attending the parade with him.
Other images show Kim, flanked by his generals, walking a red carpet and saluting the soldiers taking part in the parade.
North Korea, which has nuclear weapons, organizes similar parades to mark important dates in its history. For observers, these events are a good opportunity to see how the DPRK is developing militarily.
Members of the military’s tactical nuclear operations unit took part in the parade.
It also demonstrated the most modern intercontinental ballistic missile available to the North Korean army, KCTA reported.
