Polish border guards rescued 11 Iraqis and one Egyptian. Among them were a one-year-old child and two teenagers.

In Podlaskie Voivodeship, Polish border guards rescued 12 migrants who were stuck in a swampy area on the Narew River while illegally crossing the border from Belarus, informs border service of Poland.

It is noted that the refugees were unable to get out of the swamp and were stuck on a small island. They had to call the emergency number and report their situation.

The border guards reached the migrants by helicopter, but the board was unable to land. Then one of the border guards came down to the ground to provide first aid. The rest of the border guards were able to get to the island by throwing stairs from the shore.

The foreigners were taken to land by boats. Two people were sent to the hospital, the rest to the border post.

According to the border service, 11 Iraqis and one Egyptian were stuck in the middle of the swamp. Among them were a one-year-old child and two adolescents of 14 and 16 years old.

As reported, Poland on the border with Belarus creates refugee camps… Two such institutions have already been opened in the settlements of Biala Podlaska and Cervoni Bur.
