On the planned changes in the composition of the Liquidation Committee

In July of this year, there will be changes in the composition of the Liquidation Committee of ABLV Bank, AS (the Company) in liquidation.
As reported, on July 1, Lauma Bērziņa, a sworn advocate, will leave the position of liquidator, while on July 5, Andris Kovaļčuks, an expert in financial transactions and corporate restructuring, will leave the position of liquidator.
The changes in the composition of the Liquidation Committee will take place together with one of the largest asset recovery projects of the Company – the sale of the majority of the mortgage loan portfolio to Citadele Bank. In the future, the Company’s work will be mainly focused on the completion of creditor review processes and the payment of creditors’ claims to those creditors who do not have obstacles to the payment specified in regulatory enactments.
Lauma Bērziņa was elected as the liquidator of the Company on February 5, 2019, while Andris Kovaļčuks was elected on February 26, 2018. The shareholders and the Liquidation Committee thank Lauma Bērziņa and Andris Kovaļčuks for their work, highly appreciating their contribution to the implementation of the self-liquidation process.
Sworn advocates Vineta Čukste-Jurjeva and Jānis Rozenbergs, as well as assistant lawyer Armands Smans continue their work as liquidators.
The Liquidation Committee will continue to work on the implementation of the controlled liquidation process approved by the Financial and Capital Market Commission, professionally, transparently and legally, not only in asset management but also in creditor due diligence by an independent international consultant EY, creditors’ claims and cooperation with all parties involved. including various Latvian and foreign institutions.
