The Oradea mayors boasted last week about the modernization of Tuberozelor Street, which connects the City Hall Street with Decebal Boulevard.
As communicated by the municipality’s communicators, the work will lead to the improvement of the area’s appearance, given that the City Hall managed to plant a line of 21 trees in cores dug into the asphalt, with a watering system.
According to the residents of the area, however, the investment is far from being a success. First of all, people are dissatisfied with the extension of the excavations, the municipality previously testing the option of setting up a 20 cm green space next to the curb, which in the end was abandoned because it was too narrow.
Secondly, in the final version of the project, the arrangement of tree cores narrowed the sidewalk from the central area to just over 1 meter, which will make it difficult for two people to pass, let alone a mother pushing a stroller.
