On the Kuldiga side, Midsummer is celebrated in a horse – drawn carriage

Pandemic time constraints are not a reason to cancel swinging and baby chores. Midsummer rides and singing were used to join Midsummer Kuldiga.

One of the most beautiful solstice traditions is rocking together. The singers of the Pelči vocal ensemble “Avots” started a new ritual two years ago – they are sitting in a horse-drawn carriage, singing song songs and going to the residents of the region.

The singer respects the children with the traditional holiday delicacies. And it is a joy for both donors and recipients.

The carriage of Līgotai moves along the streets of the small village and does not leave anyone indifferent, both those who are in a hurry to finish preparing for the holiday and those passing by.
