The trains that tested the Folloban on Monday reached a top speed of 200 km/h. After two hours of test driving, everything had gone without any problems, says Bane Nor.
At 19.30 on Monday, new trains rolled from Oslo S in the direction of Ski for a new round of test runs. On board in the cab was a camera from NTB which immortalized the trip.
At 21.30, Hilde Marie Braaten confirms that the test drive had so far gone without problems. Braaten is a senior communications advisor at Bane Nor.
The test run on Sunday is described as calm, where one double train set ran both tunnel runs without any problems with the facility.
The idea is that the load is increased gradually – and that the tension in the tunnel should be loaded to the maximum, so that the system is stressed more than with a normal route plan. During the test run on Monday, the trains reached a top speed of 200 kilometers per hour.
The test run will continue through the night, and will end before the morning rush hour starts on Tuesday. However, it is not known how many days of test driving are planned. Bane Nor only states that they will test drive as long as necessary.
– The whole purpose of the test program is to uncover challenges and repair where necessary, before we can finally open the Follobanen for passenger traffic again, says Bane Nor’s executive director for development, Stine Undrum in a press release.
Bane Nor writes that if obstacles arise along the way after they have started the test run, additional time will have to be added. “It is not possible to know in advance as there is information that becomes clear as the testing continues.”
