In the mid-term elections, which are expected in the USA at the beginning of November, it should be reminded that the entire lower house of Congress and a third of the senators will be re-elected, as well as a large number of elections for various officials, referendums, etc. Also, the mid-term elections are an indicator that allows you to evaluate the attitude of the Americans towards the current president, as well as to mark the next US president election prospects. Of course, there are always possible radical changes that change the previously apparently marked trends, however, most often the processes continue to follow the previously foreseen path.
In the case of this by-election, it means that the internal political confrontation between liberals and conservatives (in both cases, of course, conditional, because the camps are made up of different groups and the lines are often blurred) will continue to take hold. Republican control of both houses of Congress also means that decision-making is significantly more difficult, including that Democrats may forget about reforms aimed at consolidating that party’s power. It is also important that the attention of the US will be even more focused on domestic political issues, with voters and politicians even less worried about what is happening in the international arena.
Without radical changes in the existing trends, there is little doubt that the winner of the 2024 US presidential election will be the Trumpist Republican candidate. Incumbent US President Joe Biden is heading towards becoming one of the worst presidents in US history, and the Democratic ranks have not seen a bright new generation of politicians, at least for now. Meanwhile, the Republican Party is dominated by supporters of Donald Trump, and there is no shortage of bright contenders who are now politely staying, so to speak, in the shadow of the patriarch.
The 2024 elections in the USA will be especially important because it is high time for the United States to find a bright leader who would be able to lead the country out of the crisis. Until now, the ability to find such leaders when many felt that collapse was inevitable has been one of the undeniable strengths of the United States (Ronald Reagan is the latest example), and 2024 will be the last chance to prove that previous history was not a coincidence. but a regularity.
