“I think that there will be practically no such full-fledged contact education from the middle of September, because there will definitely be students who will get sick, who will have to isolate themselves, and already then there will be partly hybrid, partly remote, partly contact education. Of course, everyone wants contact education to be all the time, but life is life, ”on Delfi TV.Delphi Day“E. Milešinas said.
“In my personal opinion, as at a similar time last year, the government will have to make stronger decisions,” he added.
According to E. Milešinas, on the eve of the new school year, teachers are most concerned about the fact that the planned contact education will not be “fully contact”.
“According to the decision of the operations manager and the recommendations of the ministry, there are certain things that in case of illness or necessary isolation, the student must be provided with hybrid training, if there is an opportunity at the school. If this is not possible, distance learning must be provided, which means that the teacher will have to teach lessons in a contact way and, if there is no hybrid way, distance learning will also have to be given. This is a double job. I am no longer talking about hybrid education, which we will certainly not avoid. The ministry does not even think about additional funds for this, ”said the head of the trade union.
Part of it would remain contact learning in any case
At that time, Chancellor of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports (ŠMSM) Julius Lukošius says that while clearer guidelines for organizing education were published just a week ago, they are similar to what was being done in the spring.
“One week ago, the operations manager’s decisions appeared, which set out very specific actions on how to ensure safety in schools. Yes, they came late enough, because we had a lot of expectations and needs from the same schools, their leaders, how could we best implement those things, they made suggestions, ”said J. Lukošius.

However, according to a spokesman for the ministry, preparations for the new school year began back in May, so there is not much confusion.
“Last week, a lot of things became public, because the documents were signed, but the contact with schools and municipalities took a long time and it was talked about. It is not an avalanche of questions that we now have before the first of September, “he said.
He stressed that one of the requirements for schools is that they must organize testing, but pointed out that children are not required to participate in it.
“The aim is for those who are hostile to see friends who have regular health checks and who are not getting worse from it – neither they get sick nor something happens, and they just realize that it is worth doing so because if the pandemic situation gets worse. and we will have a high level of testing, we will be able to say that the classroom is safe and continue contact education in any situation, ”the chancellor of the ministry explained.
According to J. Lukošius, even if the pandemic situation deteriorated significantly and stricter restrictions had to be adopted, some students would still remain in contact learning.
“Both pre-school, pre-school and primary education and graduates would remain in contact from February 1 next year in any case,” J. Lukošius assured.

In schools, resistance to tests and vaccinations
At that time a member of the Parents’ Forum Kęstutis Mikolajūnas said that while essential questions have been answered, everything is happening in the last days.
“I sympathize with the school leaders who have to implement the procedures that came up a few days ago,” said a member of the Parents’ Forum.
“The essential questions are answered: that testing is not mandatory, that it is not a condition for attending school. The fact that vaccinations are not mandatory does not provide any benefits to students. And that there will be contact education, which parents and children are very much looking forward to. Those basic things are clear, “he said.
According to K. Mikolajūnas, there are about one-fifth of parents who would still not send their children to school if there were such an opportunity. He also pointed out that, as in society, there is no equal treatment of vaccines and tests in individual schools.
“It simply came to our notice then. I hope that we will be able to reach an agreement and open schools smoothly, ”K. Mikolajūnas said in the show“ Delfi diena ”.
