On the day of Lāčplēsis, the online premiere of the folk dance concert performance “Ear of the Sun over Latvia” / Article / LSM.lv

On Lāčplēsis Day, November 11, at 8 pm on LMT Smart Television and in the application “LMT Straume”, the audiovisual folk dance concert performance “Ausa saule pār Latvija” will be premiered, where six dance groups will perform in a performance, dancing Latvia from Ludza to Grobiņa.

The concert was composed by the Dance and Song Foundation – the author of the idea Edvards Cīrulis and directors Juris Gogulis and Jānis Romanovskis, gathering about 160 participants in Latvia – Cēsis, Āraiši, Jelgava, Rundāle, Ludza, Liepāja, Bertāni, Grobiņa, Carnikava and Rīga.

“We must cultivate culture and national identity every dear moment, but November National Holiday Week is the time when people long for the events that give these patriotic holiday moods and make them fall in love again in our country, our Latvia. In our daily hurry, we want to remind everyone what really makes Latvia Latvia, which has encouraged our ancestors to believe in the future of our country, which created and kept the spark in them – to call Latvia their own! ” The author of the idea, Edvards Cīrulis, shared the idea of ​​the concert.

In the concert recording, well-known personalities – Lolita Ritmane, Guntars Račs, Māris Muktupāvels, Jūlija Brauere, Andris Freidenfelds, Katrīna Dimanta, Olga Dreģe, Emīls Balceris, Nora Ikstena, Juris Binde and Dzintars Dreibergs – will share their thoughts on what means to be Latvian.

University of Latvia dance ensemble “Pearl”, Riga Construction College dance ensemble “Austris”, Jelgava city municipality institution “Culture” folk dance ensemble “Lielupe”, VEF Culture Palace folk dance ensemble “Zalktis”, Riga Culture and Folk Art Center “Small Guild” dance ensemble “Daiļrade”, Liepāja University folk dance ensemble “Banga” and musicians Lauris Valters and Ilze Rijniece.
