NPO Lavochkin continues to create the Spektr-UV space observatory, designed for fundamental astrophysical research in the ultraviolet and visible ranges of the electromagnetic spectrum.
At the moment, working project documentation is being developed, spacecraft components are being manufactured, and ground experimental tests are underway.
Project contracts have been signed for the period up to 2025.
The conclusion of contracts for further work, including the launch of the observatory, is expected after the approval of the new federal space program of the Russian Federation (from 2026).
There have been no official refusals by Japanese and Spanish scientists to participate in the Spektr-UV project.
The launch of the observatory is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2028.
[A noter que le nom de l’observatoire en russe est plutôt Spektr-UF mais UV est plus parlant aux non russophones].
