On the board of directors of Uniqa: Klaus Pekarek leaves the post of head of Raiffeisen Insurance

Born in Klagenfurt in 1956, he obtained a doctorate sub auspiciis in law from the University of Graz. At the age of just 32, he became CEO of Raiffeisenlandesbank Kärnten and in 2009 he was appointed CEO of Raiffeisen Insurance. Klaus Pekarek has been a member of the board of directors of Uniqa Austria since 2016. Now the father of two, who now lives in Vienna, is retiring. Sabine Pfeffer will take his place. From April 2023, the 50-year-old will be responsible for the Raiffeisen Insurance brand. The graduate business economist, who also completed a master’s degree in legal studies and a university course in insurance economics from the WU Executive Academy, has more than 20 years of management experience in the insurance industry. More recently, he managed the personal insurance administration at the Wiener Städtische Versicherung.
