Abdel Halim Hafez was born in the village of Al-Hilwat, which is affiliated with the Ibrahimiyya Center in Sharkia Governorate, on June 21, 1929. At the international level, Saleh Selim joined the Egyptian soccer team in 1950, and he was the captain of the team that won the African Nations Cup in 1959 in Cairo, and also participated with the national team in the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960.
Saleh Selim scored 101 goals in his football career, including 9 goals during his professional career in Austria with the Graz team, and 92 goals he scored with Al-Ahly in the League and Cup championships.
