On the agenda for Global Sports Week 2022: Growth, Responsibility and Sports Diplomacy

  • The 3rd edition of the annual forum, organized under the high patronage of Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of the Republic, takes place from May 9 to 13 with three days of conferences at the Accor Arena in Paris.

Global Sports Week (GSW) is delighted to be able to share with you the program of its 2022 forum, built around the theme “Better vs Bigger: How to reconcile Growth and Responsibility in the sports industry”. Discussions will focus on how to reconcile the search for new audiences, new revenues and growth with a sustainable and socially responsible future for sport.

As part of its partnership with the French government, GSW 2022 will also serve as a launch pad for the new coordination of French sport internationally, the French Sport Touch, as France seeks to leverage major sporting events in come to the territory, including the Rugby World Cup France 2023 and the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024.

More than 2000 participants from 98 countries are expected at the GSWParis in Paris this year. A total of 60 partners – including 10 world sport governing bodies – contributed to the development of the event’s editorial line, which offers its stakeholders a unique platform to present their innovation and impact projects.

  • Racing Club de Toulon (May 11, 8.30 a.m. – Media breakfast in the workshop area on level 4)

GSW @LA, presented by 17 Sport and the LA84 Foundation

  • A one-day GSW @ Los Angeles event is organized at the headquarters of the LA84 Foundation, will be broadcast live to GSWParis delegates present at the Accor Arena in Paris and connected online around the world, via the digital platform of the event.
  • The Mayor of Los Angeles Mr Eric Garcetti will make an opening speech at the event, during the handover broadcast live from Paris.

Springboard Invest Finals

  • 14 startups have been selected during qualifying rounds organized in 7 different countries, in order to participate in the biggest European event for sportech investors and will have the opportunity to pitch their projects in front of investors from all over the world on May 11th.

Focus on the European Sports Model

A special session organized by the French National Olympic Committee and the European Commission, as part of the French Presidency of the European Union in 2022

Evenings and festivities, including

  • An Opening Cocktail at the Hôtel de Ville in Paris, presented by the Paris City Hall on May 9
  • An international VIP reception organized in partnership with the French government as part of its French Sport Touch initiative on May 10

GSW Run for Ukraine

  • Global Sports Week organizes a charity run to raise funds for Ukraine, in partnership with the NGO CARE and Sport Heroes, the connected sports community
  • The tennis player and the biggest star of Ukrainian sport, Elina Svitolina, will be present at the GSWParis 2022.
