On social networks, calls for frugality are increasing but are looking for their economic model

Other profiles, however, call for consuming less, or differently: the trend is growing in the United States, also due to purchasing power problems, as several media outlets recently revealed. Among these influencers, the American Sabrina Pare (@sabrina.sustainable.life254,800 subscribers on TikTok, 62,200 on Instagram). “This trend goes back years: from the beginning, there was a practical approach to everyday life on the networks, we remember the popularity – still current – of tutorials, underlines Olivier Glassey, sociologist specializing in digital uses at the University of Lausanne. But at the time it was not necessarily coupled with the question of influence and these profiles therefore did not have the same visibility.”
