On Saturday, July 10, the Sea Festival will be celebrated with various events on the coast.
The Great Sea Festival Market will take place in Ventspils from 8 am in the Old Town Market Square. At 10 o’clock the Sea Festival fair will start operating on Ostas Street promenade from Jāņa Street to Tirgus Street, which will last until 24 o’clock. A real festive andele will also take place in the Big Square from 12 to 22 at the fountain “Frigate” Valzivs “”.
Reņķa Garden will become one of the central festivities. The pop concert “Jūras akmentiņi” will be the first to perform in the festive concert from 2 pm, while the favorite songs of Imants Kalniņš, Aivars Hermans, Valts Pūce and Jānis Lūsēns, Marta Kristiana Kalniņa and Līva Kalniņa, will be performed at the concert program “Be Me So” from . The song program of actors Dita Lūriņa and Mārtiņš Egliens will be performed with songs sung together from the repertoire of Latvian theaters and cinemas.
The Reņķa garden program will also be available on the big screen in the Big Square until 22:00.
Attendance at the event must be accompanied by a valid Covid-19 vaccination or disease certificate or a valid Covid-19 negative test certificate. Children under the age of 12 do not need to present the certificate and do not need to take the test. A mutual distance of two meters must be observed during the event.
Bands “Riga Reggae” and “Infinite” will perform on the promenade of Ostas Street near the fountain “Ship Watcher” from 12 to 15, but from 9 pm – group “Other Boys”, hip-hop artist Idus Abra and DJ duo “Skrapneshi” .
“Sea Cup in beach volleyball 2021” will take place in Ventspils beach volleyball stadium.
From 8 pm to 1 am, a Sea Festival party will take place in Reņķa Garden, hosted by Dita Lūriņa and Mārtiņš Egliens. The atmosphere of the ball will be created by the group “Galaktika”, Andris Baltacis with an orchestra conducted by Kristaps Krievkalns and the group “Deep Purple”. A Covid-19 certificate must be presented at the event.
The Liepaja Sea Festival will take place differently from previous years, offering Liepaja residents and guests an exploratory Sea Festival walk “Moored in Liepaja”
For three days until July 11, from 10 am to 10 pm, Liepaja residents and city guests will have the opportunity to go on an exhibition route dedicated to the Sea Festival.
Also, on July 10, a memorial moment for the dead seafarers and fishermen will take place at the monument to the dead seamen and fishermen at 11 am, together with the sounds of the naval sirens. The management of Liepāja City Council, the Honorary Guard and Chaplain of the Naval Forces, the representatives of the Liepāja Special Economic Zone and Liepāja Port will take part in it.
Due to the epidemiological situation in the country, visitors to the walk are encouraged to be co-responsible, not crowded and to keep a distance of two meters from each other.
In Roja, the Sea Festival will be celebrated with various sports activities on the beach. From 10 am to 10 pm, a Fishermen’s Market will take place on Ostas Street.
In the afternoon at 2 pm the traditional honorary ride of the King of the Sea on the streets of Rojas accompanied by “Kabriokluba” and “Zelmeri Pro”, meeting and greeting on the route: Port-Sea-Selga-Talsi-Dzintara-Saules-Meža-Talsi Tower-Skuju-Wells-Peldu-Miera-Kapteiņu-Vēžu-Zušu-Kuršu-Asaru-Vēžu-Kapteiņu-Selgas-Celtnieku-Zvejnieku streets.
From 8 pm to 4 pm there will be a big ball on the stage, where “Musiqq”, Lauris Reiniks, Aija Andrejeva with the group, as well as the special guest “Alex” will perform with the best song program.
A rural goods market will take place at the Kolka Liv Assembly House from 10 am to 2 pm. At 12 noon, the orchestras “Talsi” and “Ugāle” will give concerts at Kolka Primary School, commemorating conductor Viesturs Roerich. From 15 to 17 Neptune together with “Jurkant” Māris will go on a musical journey through Kolka. From 22.30 to 24 there will be a musical light laser projection at the People’s House.
A Bula time market will take place in Salacgriva on Saturday from 12 noon in the square near the House of Culture. The mood of the trade will be cheered up by a brass band and the traders will be greeted by Elita Patmalniece and Igo with their design and artwork. Ivars Pētersons and actors of the Latvian National Theater will play music on the terrace of the restaurant “Port Grīva” from time to time. “Country musicians” will create an evening atmosphere with musical performances. In a late walk along the Salacgriva bridge and the river promenade you will be able to watch the musical fountains in Salaca from 23 to 1, repeating every 15 minutes. The municipality calls on the population to be responsible and to comply with national restrictions to reduce the spread of Covid-19.
