A great classic of the theater and one of the most acclaimed editions of the comedy by Luigi Pirandello: it is “So it is (if you think)” – directed by Filippo Dini for the Teatro Stabile di Torino-Teatro Nazionale – which Rai Cultura offers on Saturday May 15 at 9.15 pm on Rai5. Dini, in addition to directing it, is also the protagonist (in the role of an unusual Laudisi setting up on wheels), with a prominent cast: Maria Paiato, Andrea Di Casa, Benedetta Parisi, Nicola Pannelli, Mariangela Granelli, Francesca Agostini, Ilaria Falini, Carlo Orlando, Orietta Notari, Giampiero Rappa, Mauro Bernardi.
Around the mystery that surrounds a shy family just arrived in the village – Mr. Ponza, his wife perhaps deceased, perhaps not, and the elderly Mrs. Frola, his mother-in-law – Pirandello builds an investigation, conducted by petty bourgeois, who has the breath of the thriller. A dark and morbid puzzle game.
In the version signed by Filippo Dini and produced by the Teatro Stabile of Turin, “So it is (if you think)” after the long and successful tours in Italy and abroad, he obtained the 2019 Italian Theater Le Maschere Award for best direction and the best lights and was the first Italian-language Pirandello performed with great success in China.
The sets are signed by Laura Benzi, costumes by Andrea Viotti, lights by Pasquale Mari, music by Arturo Annecchino, video direction by Lucio Fiorentino.
