MSeveral hundred police officers took part in the 17th police pilgrimage to Mariazell.
The police pilgrimage took place for the 17th time. Several hundred police officers made a pilgrimage to the place of pilgrimage on Friday. The highlight was the festive service in the basilica with Diocesan Bishop Wilhelm Krautwaschl. Interior Minister Gerhard Karner was also there, mingling with the pilgrims.
The police chaplains of Upper Austria, Abbot General Provost Johann Holzinger and Deacon Anton Riedl, as well as Elisabeth Lienhart from the Styrian Police Chaplaincy also took part in the celebratory service. Other executives from the Ministry of the Interior and the state police departments as well as representatives from the state, municipality, rescue and fire departments also attended the service. The service was accompanied musically by the Police Music of Upper Austria.
“I would like to thank all the pilgrims for the valuable time together and especially the colleagues from Upper Austria who organized the police pilgrimage this year,” emphasized Interior Minister Karner.
