The violinist Vesco Panteleev – Eshkenazi is one of the most beloved Bulgarian musicians. Last week, he was warmly applauded by a large and enthusiastic audience at the open concert in front of the National Theater “Iv. Vazov” in Sofia, together with the musicians from the Sofia Philharmonic and his cousin, the conductor Maxim Eshkenazi.
In less than a month, the violinist will play again in Bulgaria. On October 12, the chamber cycle “Vesco Panteleev – Eshkenazi and Friends” begins. Since the first days of the Cantus Firmus subscription campaign, interest in the cycle has been extremely high. In 4 concerts, Vesco will perform with three wonderful Bulgarian pianists, each of whom has his irreplaceable place in the program.
This is what Vesco Panteleev – Eshkenazi shared on the air of Classic FM radio about his friends and partners on the scene:
“Ludmil Angelov and I have been playing together for 15 years, maybe even more. Our first joint appearance was at the festival in Toledo. Ludmil is wonderful to work with, he is the embodiment of the dream of a partner in music. For me, he is an indispensable musician. I hope we will continue to work together, because both on stage and in life we are very close friends, we have experienced many good and difficult moments. We play music in the same way and have almost no musical conflicts. We just reason and think the same way.”
“Viktoria Vasilenko is a wonderful pianist of the youngest generation. It was presented at my concert in the “Concertmasters” cycle last season. She plays with great maturity and at the same time has the enthusiasm of a young person. So we mutually draw from each other – I from her youth, she from my experience.
“Georgi Cherkin and I have never played together and I am very happy that this could happen. It will be a new experience for me, which is also important for my development as a musician. Georgi Cherkin is a great talent and I am sure that it will be a good concert. I’d say I’m in wonderful company.”
