To date, 183,610 Covid-19 tests have been performed in the country, and the disease has been diagnosed in 1,193 individuals. 87.6% or 1,045 of those who were diagnosed with Covid-19 have recovered.
In Latvia, 31 persons infected with Covid-19 died or 2.6% of the registered infected persons.
According to the National Health Service, no new patients with Covid-19 have been hospitalized in the last 24 hours, and one patient has been discharged. Thus, two patients are treated in the hospital together: all patients with a moderate course of the disease. A total of 188 patients were discharged from hospitals, including both those who recovered and those who died.
After the Covid-19 outbreak, which was registered two weeks ago, there was a lower prevalence of the disease in Latvia last week. In the week of July 6, 47 new cases of the disease were registered in Latvia, while last week the disease was detected in 18 people.
In recent months, Latvia has eased restrictions on Covid-19, but due to outbreaks, the government had decided for the first time to reintroduce small restrictions on public catering, or “gentle tightening of screws”.
