The Russian occupiers stopped blocking the work of the “green corridor” for Mariupol residents. Several dozen cars have already been able to leave the city.

This was reported in Facebook Advisor to the Mayor of Mariupol Petr Andryushchenko.

“As of 1300, we have de facto confirmation of the observance of the silence regime in the direction of the humanitarian corridor for private transport along the Mariupol route (exit towards the village of Melekino – the village of Portovskoe – the village of Mangush – Berdyansk – Zaporozhye). As of now more than 50 private cars have already passed Berdyansk and are heading towards Zaporozhye. As of now, passing checkpoints does not cause problems,” Andryushchenko said.

He also noted that all Mariupol residents are waiting for first aid, accommodation in Zaporozhye.

Andryushchenko also emphasized that local authorities cannot officially guarantee security in the direction of this corridor.

“But this is the only corridor that has official approval and actually works today. That is why we inform you about the possibility of using the information in the event of an independent decision to evacuate with our own transport,” he added.

At the Mariupol City Hall later reportedthat more than 160 private cars managed to leave on the way to the city of Berdyansk.

As UNIAN reported, in the past few days, Mariupol has remained completely blocked both for evacuation and for humanitarian cargo.

On March 13, a humanitarian convoy heading for Mariupol returned to Berdyansk.

“The convoy with humanitarian cargo and evacuation buses will continue to move into the city,” the police noted on the morning of March 14.
