Now amounts up to UAH 5000 inclusive will not be subject to financial monitoring

It was inconvenient for the Ukrainians to transfer the amount up to 4,999 hryvnia, so they decided to round it up to 5,000.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Thursday, September 9, increased the amount of cash transfers that are not subject to financial monitoring. Now you can transfer anonymously up to UAH 5,000 inclusive.

The bill No. 5559 was supported by 315 deputies. The document introduces changes to Art. 14 law On prevention and counteraction to legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime… Now the amounts that do not exceed UAH 5,000 are not subject to financial monitoring. Previously, amounts up to and including 4,999 hryvnias were not subject to such control.

Thus, the amount of transfers that is not subject to financial monitoring is increased by 1 hryvnia.

The explanatory note notes that the law was adopted due to the fact that it was often inconvenient for Ukrainians to transfer an amount of up to 4999 hryvnia, so they decided to round it up.
