“Tonight, my team and I visited several cafes and bars in Vilnius that operate with a passport of opportunities.”
Until recently, with 634 cases per day, “normal life” was unimaginable. And today we can enjoy the coming autumn and get back to many of our usual activities without any restrictions. The city is full of Vilnius residents and city guests who have returned from vacation. Life does not stop!
Our common goal is to achieve a situation where we do not need a passport of opportunity, ”the minister writes in her facebook account.
On Friday night, the Minister was pleased that some businesses are making a big difference at this rather difficult time.
“In addition to the number of these diseases that we have now, Lithuania has already severely limited economic activities this year: catering services, tourism services, entertainment and so on. Our goal is not to limit those activities. We are seeing the number of infections rise again, but our goal is to keep vaccines and opportunities to keep passports open for businesses to operate. I am very glad that there are such businesses that help us in this difficult hour, ”said A. Armonaitė on Friday evening.
The minister also assured that there are quite a small number of cases where people try to cheat and falsify documents, but, according to the minister, this is how they deceive only themselves.
“We see a very small proportion of cases of counterfeiting. I just want to say one very simple thing – if you pay money for a forged document, you are not deceiving the government, not the state institutions, the business, but yourself. You pay money so you don’t have protection. The vaccine is completely free, freely available and yet the person has protection. “I urge people to act rationally and not to use forged documents, because it is a crime and self-deception,” the politician assured.
Delfi reminds that it will be possible to collect the Opportunity Passport at pharmacies, Lithuanian Post, Sodra terminals, and branches of the Center of Registers. It is not yet clear whether this will be possible at Perlo terminals. According to the Minister, representatives of the company are currently being discussed.
On Friday Government at the meeting agreed that the Minister of Health, the head of state-level emergency state operations Arūnas Dulkys entrust the Center of Registers with the provision of a passport printing service, while “providing for the possibility of using other entities to provide this service”.
A. Dulkys promised to sign the decisions of the operations manager on Friday, establishing the procedure so that state and municipal institutions, establishments, companies, pharmacies, ie “all those who would conclude contracts with the Center of Registers” could issue passports.
The minister says he has received assurances from the Pharmacy Association alone that the opportunity passport could be issued by at least 800 pharmacies across the country.
According to the Minister, out of a million opportunity passports issued by the Center of Registers, an average of 4.5 thousand were printed this week. Opportunity passports are issued all over Lithuania, and about 50 thousand virtual passports are issued every day, but among them there are people who take out an opportunity passport repeatedly.
