JSC “Latvenergo” Board Member, Commercial Director Uldis Bariss has decided not to continue working in the company’s Board after the expiration of the current term of office on November 15, 2020. From November 16, U.Bariss will start performing the duties of the Chairman of the Board of JSC “Conexus”.
U. Bariss started working at Latvenergo in 2002 as the Director of the Economics Department. U.Bariss has been a member of the Management Board of Latvenergo since 2005, since 2013 he has been the Commercial Director of the company, currently also the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Elektrum Eesti OU and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Elektrum Lietuva UAB.
As Commercial Director, U.Bariss was responsible for energy wholesale, marketing and customer service, billing, regulatory issues. Since 2018, he has also been in charge of energy production planning, HPP and CHP technical management, as well as production projects.
U.Bariss has been actively involved in the process of liberalization of the Latvian electricity market since 2005, establishing a successful customer service and settlement system for business customers and households, which has allowed Latvian electricity consumers to enter the free market relationship business model without significant barriers.

Uldis Bariss received a doctor’s degree in environmental science from Riga Technical University in 2017, a professional master’s degree in business management from the Riga School of Economics in 2008, and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Latvia in 2004.
Prior to joining Latvenergo AS, U.Bariss was the Head of the Financial Planning and Control Department of SIA Lattelekom, as well as the Head of the Management Accounting Sector.
A new member of the Board of AS Latvenergo will be selected through a competition.
