A historic investment of more than 39 billion pesos was recently approved by the Plenary Session of the Regional Council (CORE) of O’Higgins, in session No. 372, which was chaired by the regional governor Pablo Silva Amaya and had the favorable approval of the all of the regional councilors.

The project, prior to going to a plenary vote, was analyzed and voted on by the Social and Public Safety Commission of the Regional Council. Its president, Jacqueline Jorquera Reinoso, noted that “we are happy and proud. This gigantic investment gives dignity to the residents of Pichilemu, as well as to all vacationers. Today we need to have a Pichilemu, which is the capital of surfing, with conditions to receive the residents of the region, as well as visitors. PICHILEMU AUTHORITIES

Mayor Cristian Pozo expressed his happiness for the approval of resources. “On behalf of the commune and each of the Pichileminos and Pichileminas, thank the Regional Council, especially Governor Pablo Silva Amaya for putting this tremendous initiative on the table, and the Plenary Session of the Regional Council.”

The mayor added that “the effect that this investment will generate in Pichilemu is tremendous, not only because of the infrastructure, but also in terms of improving the quality of life of all residents. I once again thank you for all the effort, and also thank my Secplac team, who have been working for many years and today are consolidated with the largest investment in the history (of the commune),” stated the highest authority of Pichilemu.

Other investments for the region

In addition to the sewer project for Pichilemu, the plenary session of the Regional Council approved other regional initiatives.

This is the increase in the budget for the construction of the Family Health Center (Cesfam) in the El Manzano sector, Las Cabras commune, for an amount of 84 million pesos. Another initiative that saw the green light was the one that will go to the aid of entrepreneurs affected by the Marchigüe Harvest fire, where 252 million pesos were approved to support 54 small entrepreneurs affected, in a work that the Regional Government is carrying out in jointly with Sercotec, Corfo and Fosis.

Finally, 519 million were approved to carry out the designs of the projects “Improvement of Calle Concejal Raúl Marín, commune of Coltauco”, “Improvement of Hernando de Magallanes Axis, Pichilemu”, and the projects “Expansion of Rural Drinking Water Service El Roble to the sector Los Romeros, Graneros” and “Ross Park Improvement, Pichilemu commune”.
