Depardieu (75 years old) was previously charged on 16 December 2020 with rape and sexual assault after Arnault complained that he raped her twice at his home in Paris on 7 August and 13 , 2018.
The decision whether or not to hold a trial rests with the investigating judge responsible for the case.
One of Depardieu’s defense agents did not respond after Agence France-Presse tried to contact him.
Charlotte Arnault’s lawyer, Karen Durieux-Debault, said that the demands of these prosecutors “are the result of a long investigation in which elements have been gathered that support my client’s statements.”
She said, “Arno believes that this is a big step forward which is his hope while he waits for the decision of the investigating judge.
The actor, who is accused by other women of sexual violence, denies these allegations.
