On a night of great goals, Vasco thrashes Trem-AP and advances in the Copa do Brasil

Without any difficulty, the Vasco thrashed Trem-AP by 4-0, this Thursday, at Mané Garrincha, in Brasília, and qualified for the second phase of the Copa do Brasil. The goals scored by Erick Marcus and Nenê further enhanced the overwhelming performance of the team, which largely dominated the match. Pedro Raul and Jair completed the score. Despite having scored, the striker wasted many opportunities and was the negative highlight of the team.

+ PERFORMANCES: Erick Marcus scores for the first time in the professionals in Vasco’s thrashing

Upon advancing to the second phase of the Copa do Brasil, Vasco will receive R$ 1.7 million in prize money. To compete in the first phase, Cruz-Maltino had received R$ 1.4 million. The next opponent comes out of the confrontation between Tuntum-MA and ABC-RN, next Wednesday. The field command will be from Vasco.

LOCOMOTIVE

From the beginning of the game, Vasco put pressure on Trem. In less than five minutes, Cruz-Maltino had already created clear goal chances with Jair and Pedro Raul. The steering wheel headed out, while the attacker had the header defended by goalkeeper Redson. Both finished after crosses from Erick Marcus, who was inspired on the pitch.

COLOR GOAL

The same Erick Marcus starred in the most beautiful move of the game when he scored a true goal. The striker received the left end, dribbled two markers and kicked hard to open the scoring for Vasco. It was the club’s first goal in the professional team, coach Maurício Barbieri’s bet for the season. It is worth highlighting defender Léo’s pass at the beginning of the play, breaking the Trem’s marking line.

ONE WAS LITTLE

Vasco continued with appetite after the goal scored and piled up chances, but they were wasted, mainly by Pedro Raul. The striker had at least four clear opportunities to score in the first half, but only had one, when he pushed with his chest, over the line, after a perfect cross by Lucas Piton. Pedro Raul even provided an assist for Alex Teixeira’s goal, but the number 7 shirt was offside.

VOVÔ’S GOAL

In the second stage, already in training rhythm and winning by 2 to 0, Maurício Barbieri started to change the team. One of the changes was the entry of Nenê, who entered full of disposition after having the name much celebrated by the fans. The number 10 reciprocated the affection that came from the stands and toasted Vasco da Gama with a great goal. Grandpa landed a left-handed shot at the angle, with no chance for goalkeeper Redson.

BREAKTHROUGH COULD BE HIGHER

Despite the secure victory, the feeling was one of frustration at the fact that Vasco had wasted so many goal chances. Pedro Raul continued to miss clear opportunities, either with his head or with his feet. Eguinaldo also finished on the post in a play in the small area. The little use in submissions turns on the warning signal for more difficult games to come. In addition, Jair suffered a penalty, charged and closed the rout by 4-0.
