Germany introduces significant restrictions for travelers from the United Kingdom. Only German citizens or people living in Germany are allowed to enter the country by plane, train or ship. The rule goes into effect on Monday.
From Monday, a two-week quarantine obligation will also apply to travelers from the United Kingdom, even if they have been vaccinated or have been cured of a corona infection.
Germany is taking drastic measures because of the rapid advance of the omikron variant in Great Britain. More than 93,000 new corona infections were registered there on Friday and 90,000 yesterday.
France also bans travelers from the United Kingdom. The rules went into effect there yesterday.
