Far West scenes unfolded yesterday (23/9) in Omonia. Shortly after 18:00 shots were fired at the junction of Crete and Acominato streets, behind Vathis square, with the authorities seeing a settlement of accounts.
As it became known, the man who took the shots is of Albanian origin, had been convicted of murder and had served a 15-year prison sentence. The attackers fired from a passing jeep at least seven times towards the cafeteria where the victim was sitting.
The victim was taken to the People’s Hospital where doctors found that he had a bullet wound to the shoulder and he was taken to the operating room and is in serious condition.

Officers are examining shell casings found at the scene to determine if the weapon they used was used in another illegal act, according to MEGA.
They are also looking for footage from the security cameras of the shops in the surrounding area, as they want to see the movements of the vehicle used by the perpetrators.
