Omniva forecasts a 54% increase in turnover this year :: Dienas Bizness

The logistics company SIA Omniva Latvija forecasts an increase in turnover of 54% this year, said Beāte Krauze-Čebotare, the head of Omniva in Latvia.

She pointed out that the effects of the pandemic continued to be felt throughout the world economy this year, but that in many sectors this was largely marked by the challenges of declining turnover and the like, the shipping logistics sector was the opposite.

“This year we have continued to experience unimaginably rapid growth – the total volume of shipments in the first eleven months of the year has increased by 73% compared to the same period last year, while the number of Omniva’s active business customers has also increased by 25%,” said Krauze-Čebotare.

According to her, this shows that e-commerce is developing faster and more and more people appreciate the benefits of distance selling.

“Consequently, the biggest challenges this year have been the proper management of resources to be able to react quickly and adapt to the ever-changing market situation,” said the head of Omniva.

She pointed out that in adapting the company’s operations to the new circumstances due to the huge increase in the volume of shipments, it was decided at the beginning of the year to invest less than 2.8 million euros to increase the number of Omniva parcel terminals by almost a third to 300. Producers’ capacity was exhausted globally, so the process did not go as fast as expected and the company had to wait for almost a year for new substations. The equipment was delivered to the company only at the end of November.

“Despite the complex steps that have been taken to grow our capacity extremely quickly in a very limited environment, we are truly pleased with what we have achieved,” said Krauze-Chebotare.

Asked about this year’s turnover forecast, Krauze-Čebotare answered that the current data “Omniva” allows us to express an ambitious forecast that 2021 will be able to close with a turnover increase of up to 54%.

As reported, Omniva’s turnover last year was 12.278 million euros, which is 63.4% more than a year earlier, while the company’s profit increased 3.2 times – to 2.366 million euros, according to information “Firmas.lv”. The company “Omniva” was registered in 2012 and its share capital is 2945 euros. Omniva is wholly owned by the Estonian postal company Eesti Post.
