Omniva concludes a cooperation agreement with a global e-commerce platform

Omniva Group has concluded a strategic partnership agreement with Asendia, a joint venture between French and Swiss national postal service providers, thus providing an opportunity for Baltic online retailers to start and expand sales in new foreign markets in Central Asia and the Caucasus region.

At the same time, the concluded agreement will provide consumers with access to a wide range of global online stores. Thus, every resident of the Baltics will have the opportunity to receive the ordered goods faster and more conveniently.

“This agreement is a clear demonstration of confidence in the Omniva brand and the international shipping solutions we provide. No less important is the fact that the cooperation between Omniva and Asendia is a great opportunity for the entire Baltic e-commerce industry and its customers, as it will give us the opportunity to provide really excellent services and help reach a wide audience of up to 294 million local companies in the industry. I am sure that this cooperation will help us to cover both the fastest growing consumer markets and also provide excellent service to our customers,” says Marts Mägi, Chairman of the Board of Omniva Group.

The concluded partnership means that Omniva will be responsible for the delivery of customer shipments not only in the three Baltics, but also in 20 other countries. With its extensive network, logistics capabilities, close connections in various regions and rich experience in the field of e-commerce, Omniva will also connect Asendia to the Baltic States, Finland, Eastern Europe, as well as Central Asia and the Caucasus.

Commenting on the partnership agreement, Asendia CEO Marc Pontet emphasized: “Our cooperation with Omniva demonstrates our trust in our customers and our desire to continue developing solutions in every part of the world where online shopping is growing in popularity.”

In terms of market potential, this partnership will enable online retailers to access a global market in 30 countries with 294 million potential online shoppers. According to Statista’s Digital Market Outlook, e-commerce revenue will grow in the next few years in nine countries in Central Asia and the Caucasus alone and reach $15 billion in 2025.

Both companies are interested and ready to provide services within this partnership as soon as possible and according to current plans, it will be launched in the second quarter of 2023.

Kursors.lv comment: First time hearing of such a company (Asendia), but glad Omniva is expanding its capabilities. By the way, we recently had an interesting conversation with a representative from Omniva on our technology podcast.
