Omikron is being diagnosed in more and more countries and new cases continue to emerge, especially in Europe, according to a tracker on the website of The Economist. According to the European health service ECDC, Europe now has 182 confirmed infections with the variant.

Portugal has the most omikron infections with 38 confirmed cases, followed by Norway (19), the Netherlands (17), Denmark (18) and France (13).
In our country, the counter stands at nine. Also in Austria (11), Czech Republic (1), Finland (1), Greece (1), Iceland (3), Ireland (1), Italy (4), Romania (2), Spain (7) and Sweden (6 ) the variant begins to spread.
The United Kingdom reported at least 246 infections yesterday. That is an increase of 86 compared to the day before.
