“Over the past 24 hours, 32,176 cases have been identified (coronavirus infection – ed.). 184 people have died,” the agency quotes the data of the Turkish Ministry of Health.
The head of the Turkish Ministry of Health, Fahrettin Koca, linked the sharp increase in new cases of coronavirus with the spread of the new Omicron strain.
“The reduction in the number of cases of infection to 20 thousand per day was a major success. Due to the rapid spread of Omicron, there is now an increase again,” he wrote on his Twitter.
The minister urged Turkish citizens to be careful and get vaccinated against coronavirus or take booster doses as soon as possible.
