Omicron strain – Germany and Moldova tightened entry rules

The authorities of Germany and Moldova have tightened the rules of entry due to the threat of the spread of a new strain of the Omicron coronavirus. To cross the border, it will be necessary, in particular, to provide a negative PCR test.

Entry regulations to Germany

Anyone entering Germany from countries with a high risk of spreading the Omicron strain will need a negative PCR test. It must be done no later than 48 hours before the border crossing.

The publication also notes that since there is currently the possibility of vaccination against coronavirus in children aged 5 years and older, children from 6 years old will also have to provide a negative test.

Currently, the list of countries with a high risk of the spread of coronavirus includes the states of Africa. From December 27, Great Britain will enter it.

Conditions of entry to Moldova

Restrictions on entry to Moldova will take effect from Monday, December 27th. Anyone arriving in the country from countries with a high risk of contracting coronavirus will have to provide a negative PCR test at the border. It will be required for both vaccinated and unvaccinated. Its validity period should not exceed 72 hours.

It is noted that the Ministry of Health of Moldova will update the list of countries with a high risk of coronavirus infection every week.
