Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The increase in Covid-19 cases due to the Omicron variant has an impact on the number of canceled flights on Christmas 2021. There are at least 4,000 flights worldwide that were canceled between 24-26 December 2021.

FlightAware also noted there were 1,404 flights on Christmas day canceled globally. Later, about 340 flights previously booked for flights on December 26 were also canceled.
At the same time, the US announced plans to lift travel restrictions from several countries in southern Africa. This plan has been discussed by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken with Naledi Pandor of South Africa by telephone.
