MENLO PARK – Apple will close its three retail stores following increased exposure and cases of Omicron-type Covid-19 among employees.
According to a Bloomberg report, the stores, located in Downtown Brickell in Miami, Annapolis, Maryland and downtown Ottawa, Ontario, will be temporarily closed.

Currently, Apple’s website says stores in Miami are closed until Friday and Annapolis and Ottawa stores are closed until Saturday.
Apple reportedly closed a store in Southlake, Texas last week due to the Covid-19 outbreak, although the company’s website currently indicates that the store is open.
This closure is due to the increasing Covid-19 infection. Although the omicron variant is starting to spread, the delta variant continues to be the main variant circulating in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Meanwhile, starting a few days ago, Apple again required customers to wear masks in retail stores in the US.
“We regularly monitor the condition and we will adjust our health measures to support the well-being of our customers and employees,” an Apple spokesperson said in a statement.
More according to the spokesperson Apple, employees working in closed stores should be tested before reopening.
