During pregnancy, a woman needs a lot of vitamins, calcium, minerals and fatty acids, for a healthy pregnancy and a healthy, healthy baby.
A pregnant woman derives these elements, either from nutrition that must be healthy or from some nutritional supplement that she takes under medical supervision.
What is omega-3?
Among the important elements for a woman during her pregnancy, omega-3, which is an essential fatty acid with a long chain of unsaturated, is important for health and growth, and is called essential because the body is unable to manufacture it and therefore must be obtained in an appropriate quantity.
Omega-3 is responsible for producing many substances that maintain the balance of many processes in the body, including:
Blood pressure – body temperature – infections – tumors.

Herring: Contains 1,729 mg per 100 grams.
Salmon: Contains approximately 2,260 mg per 100 grams.
Anchovies: It contains 2,133 mg per 100 grams.
Sardines: Contains 1,480 mg per 100 g fresh.
As well as omega-3 is found in clams, caviar and from plant sources, chia seeds, soybeans and walnuts.
It is also found in eggs and milk.
Benefits of omega-3 for pregnant women
Reducing infant risk of developing allergies: Nutrients magazine published in 2017, research indicated that eating oily fish and fish oil during pregnancy reduces the infant’s risk of developing respiratory diseases such as asthma and chest allergy.
Improving the growth of the baby: Eating omega-3 acids helps to increase the weight of the fetus, at birth.
Omega-3 also reduces the risk of depression, tension and discomfort, and for this reason, not consuming it explains the occurrence of volatile mood disorders immediately after childbirth and then begins early in the second pregnancy as the lack of omega-3 consumption during pregnancy causes a deficiency of DHA in a pregnant woman. It may increase the odds of developing postpartum phalanges.
Omega-3s also reduce the risk of premature labor or reduce the occurrence of a cesarean delivery.
Eating omega-3 helps prevent hair loss during pregnancy, and contributes significantly to the increase in breast milk after childbirth.
