Ombudsman monitors investigations into death of São Paulo fan

The São Paulo State Police Ombudsman’s Office announced this Wednesday (27) that it will monitor the investigations carried out by the Military Police and the Civil Police in the case of São Paulo fan, Rafael Garcia, aged 32, who was found with an injury in the head during a confrontation between fans of the São Paulo club and the Military Police on the afternoon of last Sunday (24) at the Morumbi stadium.

“We opened a procedure on this date, requesting from the Military Police images from portable body cameras, information on the type of ammunition used, as well as the identification of the police officers who acted on the occasion with loaded long weapons and reports with attribution of shots fired by a police officer . Likewise, we asked the Civil Police for the cameras at the scene, necroscopic reports, local reports and also ballistics reports”, says the note from the Ombudsman’s Office, which also expressed its rejection of any form of violence.
