/ world today news/ The great actor and director Kamen Donev, the chairman of the Bulgarian Medical Union Dr. Vencislav Grozev, the chairman of the National Branch Union of Bakers and Confectioners Mariana Kukusheva, the executive director of the National Network for Children Georgi Bogdanov, the chairman of the National Representation of student councils Yana Vangelova and deputy ombudsman Diana Kovacheva are among the first to support the petition of national public defender Maya Manolova to the European Parliament against the double food standard in the EU.
The official presentation of the ombudsman’s initiative will be on October 2, 2017, Monday, at 12:00 p.m. in the institution /c. Sofia, “George Washington” St. No. 22/.
Maya Manolova’s idea is to take advantage of her right as a citizen of the European Union, who individually or through association with other persons and organizations, can send a petition to the European Parliament on a matter that directly affects her and falls within the sphere of activity of the European Union.
The subject of the ombudsman’s petition are the violated rights of Bulgarian citizens as a result of the production and distribution of food and drinks of the same brands of lower quality in Bulgaria and the countries of Eastern Europe and a proposal to create legislation to prohibit the production and the distribution of products of the same brand with different content of ingredients within the common European market.
