This Wednesday, June 16, on Instagram, Omar Sy welcomed the success of Lupin in the United States by immortalizing himself in front of the posters of the series plastered on huge panels scattered around Los Angeles.
He is now the most American of French actors. Gone are the days when Omar Sy interpreted Doudou, in the Emissions Service (hello!), with Fred Testot. After the success ofUntouchables, Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano, which won him the César for Best Actor in 2012, the comedian’s career took off and took him to the United States (where he settled down with his family) . We saw it in particular in blockbusters X-Men : Days of Future Past (2014), Jurassic World (2015), Inferno (2016) or again Transformers (2017). But lately it is with a French series that Omar Sy conquered American viewers : Lupin, on Netflix. It is indeed the first French series to enter the top 5 of the world series of the streaming platform. Cock-a-doodle Doo. A real American dream for the Frenchie.
Omar Sy proud of the success of Lupin in the USA
Friday June 11, at the same time as the opening of Euro 2020, the second part of the mini-series was broadcast on Netflix. And for the occasion, posters were plastered on huge billboards in Los Angeles. Something to make Omar Sy proud which was immortalized in front of several of them, proudly wearing the jersey of the France team with two stars, flocked in the name of Karim Benzema, alongside his companion Hélène Sy. “WORK HARD – DREAM BIG” (understand : “Work hard – dream big”), he captioned on Instagram under the photos (to discover here). “Wow awesome”, was quick to comment Laeticia Hallyday. “Well done chef”, wrote Moussa Sissoko. “Encouragement for the future”, joked Pascal Légitimus. “You are extra, so happy for you with all this great success”, “Congratulations”, “Exceptional”, “You are the best”, “We are proud of you”, we could also read in comments. An additional victory for France, after that of the Blues against Germany!
