“Omar and us” receives Special Jury Prize at the Terni Film Festival

The movie “Omar and us”, Which deals with the story of a military veteran and his two migrant neighbors, continues to win awards at national and international festivals.

With cast members Cem Bender, Taj Sher Yakub, Menderes Samancılar, Hala Alasayesneh, Ushan Çakır and Uygar Tamer, the plot of the film goes like this: Ismet, a recently retired commander, lives on the Turkish-Greek border. His neighbor Sabri in the same apartment survives thanks to two migrants who assist him. Later, the man decides to host these people in his apartment. But, Ismet is unhappy with the new guests. He is involved in a series of events that will allow him to face his own prejudices.

Produced in 2019, the film has received around 30 awards such as the Kazan International Film Festival, the Paris SEE Film Festival, the Kayseri Film Festival and the Istanbul Film Festival (39th edition).
