Oman-UAE Border Update: New AI Technology Speeds Up Customs Process

Oman: Traveling from UAE to Oman and from Oman to UAE will now be easier. As part of this, new technology including artificial intelligence has been implemented at the border. The Customs Department has announced that the operation of Land Customs Centers in Abu Dhabi Emirate will be made more efficient and faster. This will speed up the entry of tourists from the UAE to Oman.

Abu Dhabi Customs has completed a project to provide state-of-the-art inspection equipment to run non-stop scanning technology with the help of artificial intelligence at Customs’ centers in Al Ain City.
In addition, Khatam Al Shikala and Mes Yad customs centers, which share the border between the UAE and Oman, are equipped with the world’s best X-ray scanning equipment.

Two central control and operation rooms for testing equipment have been established. Operation rooms have been set up to facilitate entry and exit through customs ports. It has the capacity to scan 100 lorries, 150 tourist vehicles and 150 buses per hour using rapid non-stop scanning technology.
