Muscat: Oman’s first artificial satellite, Aman-One, was successfully launched. It was in the second attempt that the satellite was put into orbit. Preparations for the first launch began in October last year. It was launched on January 10 this year, but the launch failed due to a technical glitch. Etco Space, the Omani space company, was behind the effort to launch the satellite.
SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched a satellite into orbit from a launch site in California, Etco Space said. Etco Space’s first satellite launch is the first step in this field, said the company’s CEO, Abdul Aziz Jaffer.
