Oman closes land borders; UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain ban public events

Kuwait City / Abu Dhabi / Riyadh Foreigners will not be allowed to enter Kuwait for two weeks from Sunday. However, the ban will not affect Vande Bharat’s flights.

Ministry of Health / Education staff and domestic workers can board a Vande Bharat flight to Kuwait. Anyone from Kuwait can return on these flights. Businesses will be closed from 8pm to 5am. Salons and health clubs will not work.

Saudi Arabia: After banning entry to 20 countries, including India, entertainment was banned for 10 days and wedding parties and corporate meetings for a month. Game, gym and sports centers in theaters, shopping centers and restaurants will not be open for 10 days.

UAE: Pubs and bars closed. Entertainment was suspended, including at the Global Village. Non-emergency surgeries replaced. Those coming to the UAE must show a PCR negative result taken within 72 hours. Dubai visas must be registered on the GDRFA website and visas from other emirates must be registered on the ICA site. There are strict conditions for entering the capital emirate, Abu Dhabi.

Oman: Land borders closed until 6pm on Monday. Sports competitions, exhibitions and other public events were banned. Lockdown is not under consideration. The airport will be closed in case of emergency.

Qatar: No more marriages until further notice. However, there are restrictions on weddings in homes and majlis. Playgrounds closed. The government has proposed to reduce the number of people working directly in private companies. The classroom-online hybrid system will continue at 50% capacity.

Abu Dhabi: Saudi visa holders stranded in India and the UAE can travel to Saudi Arabia via Oman and Bahrain. Only those working in higher posts who receive Visa on Arrival can reach Saudi Arabia via Bahrain. Everyone can travel via Oman. So far, many have gone through the UAE. However, with the ban on UAE travelers, travel agencies have come up with alternatives. Prohibited nationals can enter Saudi Arabia if they have a 14-day stay in a country where it does not apply, and a PCR test to prove they are free of the disease. Tourist visas are not available in Qatar, so it is not possible to go there.
