Muscat: Oman bans import of plastic bags The order issued by Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in this regard came into force on 1 January. From now on, companies, institutions and individuals will not be able to import plastic bags into the country.
Strict action will be taken against those who break the law. The ministry added that such persons will be charged a fine of 1,000 riyals and the amount of the fine will be doubled if the violation is repeated.
